It was okay

This was just okay. I liked that this involved a pretty unique shifter but other than a crazy ex-boyfriend him being rare was never really an issue. This book was more about his inability to believe that people could be genuine friends and want him for him and no other reason. I enjoyed the story but there was just something lacking.

About the Author
Dr. Urmila Sharma, M.A., Ph.D., daughter of renowned Indian Political Scientist Dr. B.M. Sharma stood first in B.A. in Ist Division at Mahila College in 1956; she stood first in first division in M.A. (Political Science) in 1958 receiving highest marks in all the faculties of Lucknow University and was awarded four gold medals. During 1958-59 she was lecturer in P.G. Department of Political Science at R.G. College, Meerut. During 1959-1962, she received U.G.C. Research Fellowship. Since then she has been continuously engaged in research and writing. In 1980, she received her Ph.D degree on now published work Humanism in Contemporary Indian Political Thought. She is the author of many books on Political Science in both English and Hindi.

Dr. S.K. Sharma, M.A. (History), M.A. (Pol.Sc.), LLB., Ph.D. (London), taught Political Science to under-graduate and post-graduate students for three decades and retired as Head of the Department of Political Science, Meerut College, Meerut. Author of about fifty research papers Dr. Sharma guided Ph.D. research and attended numerous seminars in India and abroad. He obtained Ph.D. degree from London University on his now published work on Harold Laski.

I received this book as a present. Like many urban dwellers, I am fascinated by wildlife. Moles is a highly satisfying read. It covers moles' natural history, biology and behavior, in a highly readable, informative style. What I liked as much, though, is the author's warm style. The author deftly conveys his rigorous scientific knowledge while never sacrificing his enthusiasm and affection for these citizens of the garden, the park, the meadow and the forest. The illustrations are wonderfully done, a bit sassy, and full of fun.

In short, this lovely little book is as rare as a mole sighting, an experience to be treasured.

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING !!!!!

This is the BEST BOOK that's ever been published for guitar lovers; PERIOD! 150 of the world's best guitarists with photos from the world's best rock & roll photographer and interview snips from a reknown jounalist??? SHOW ME ANOTHER THAT COMES EVEN CLOSE TO THIS!!!
My hat's off to Neil for capturing the real essence of each player and doing what he does best; immortalizing the moment! You can almost hear the sustain of guitars when you open the pages! No other photographer in history has left a footprint on R&R like NZ has and these are images that will remain permanantly etched in your mind!
My hat's off to Steve Rosen for opening the hearts and minds of these amazing players to show you what's inside; you can almost smell the whiskey when you read them! Every player becomes more human and really makes the pages come alive. Steve's contributions are a perfect companion for Neil's masterpiece.

Must own for all fans of guitars

"At first glance, one would think that this is just a collection of photographs in a book. But once you take a look at any page in the book, you realize that the photos are accompanied by quotes from the subjects themselves. And these quotes are about playing guitar, they are relevant. It is a fantastic look into the mindset of the best rock guitarists of all time. Through the words of the guitarists and the imagery captured in each photo, you get an intimate look at the world that is rock guitar.

As you flip from page to page, more and more rock legends are presented. With each photo, you realize that Neil Zlozower truly has an eye for capturing the moment, he is a master at his art.

The book is not in any chronological order, nor does it need to be read in any particular fashion. Guitarists from various genres of rock n roll are represented from blues to heavy metal. The only legendary guitarists missing are Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Highlights in the book include Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrell, Lita Ford and the man himself, Les Paul.

The quotes from the guitarists are taken from interviews conducted by Steven Rosen and they will appeal to fans and guitarists alike. They add to the photos and make this book a must for anyone has ever loved to hear the magical sounds of a guitar."

This is an excellent book which contains superb photographs of the best guitarists in the world, along with interesting quotations from many of them. I especially enjoyed the photographs of my two favorite guitarists, Joe Perry and Mick Mars.
This book is an excellent value and illustrates once again that Neil Zlozower is a master of portraiture.

NOT THE RIGHT COVER

I just reviewed this volume -- READER'S DIGEST CONDENSED BOOKS VOL. 1: 1957 but it doesn't have cardinals on the cover. The version I reviewed is pictured with a dust jacket, and also with its boards, which are a bull's eye/chevron type graphic. (However, the books listed in the product info are correct.)

Short version: I was not impressed. I thought most of the entries were the less-than-best although from good authors, and the abridgements ("condensations") generally didn't help.

If you're "kicking tires" with some of these old READER'S DIGEST CONDENSED BOOKS from the Fifties and Sixties, I think you'll find far better volumes. Here are some that I have already found and liked very much, along with a partial list of the books in them:

Erectile Dysfunction is a complex syndrome associated and determined by several separate vascular and nonvascular factors. In recent years, the evolution of noninvasive vascular technology used to ivestigate macro- and microcirculation in vascular disorders has produced a large amount of information and increased our knowledge in vascular pathphysiology.
In the specific field of vasculogenic dysfunction two major problems have been defined using ultrasoung based methods: a decrease in arterial inflow and an increased venous outflow. As erection is the result of the delicate balance and timing between blood inflow and outflow, these problems are compatible and often overlapping as both vascular alterations are present in patients with vasculogenic erectile dysfunction.
Apart from the problems regarding macrocirculation the authors discuss the role of microcirculation, the presence of localised or diffuse fibrosis in the corpora cavernosa, the possibly overstated role of venous leak, and pharmacology and its new interesting developments. In the field of infertility a new test using color duplex to reliably evaluate the presence of asymptomatic varicocele is described.
As most problems in andrology are related to vascular alterations, the evaluation and quantification techniques for the vascular abnormalities described in this volume have created a new branch in medicine the editor and his group of authors are a major part of. They have delivered a comprehensive book which deals with these new trends in andrology and stresses the importance of vascular disorders in erectile dysfunction and varicocele in association with infertility.
